New Benches For Peace Garden

Cumbernauld Community Memorial Peace Garden now features four fantastic new benches. The benches were created by David Ogilvie Engineering, based in Kilmarnock, and depict a wartime scene of soldiers heading into battle, also depicting the traditional commemorative red poppies. The four benches were sponsored by Cumbernauld Environmental Society, Sanctuary Cumbernauld, Plumbstore, and the Cumbernauld branch of the Royal British Legion.

A spokesman for Cumbernauld Environmental Society said; “These benches make a fantastic addition to Cumbernauld’s newest community garden, and are a great fit with the overall theme and design of Cumbernauld Community Memorial Peace Garden, commemorating the centenary of the First World War. Work continues on phase 2 of the project, which will also include installation of a new public artwork, and planting of a Laurel hedgerow, among other landscape improvements”.
